Word 2010 New Features

?  Ribbon:    Before Word 2007, commands were represented in menus and toolbars, instead

of ribbon which contains a set of tabs and groups and also can be customized.

?  New File Format:     The new Microsoft Office Open XML Formats reduce file size and

Improve corruption recovery, which indicated by the x letter in the new file format .docx instead of .doc in the word versions before Microsoft Word 2007.

?  Navigation Pane:     By            using Navigation Pane you can navigate to any header, page, or to

any search term you entered.

?  Paste Preview:       You can preview what an item will look like in each of the available

formats.

?  The Backstage View:     Backstage view is the place where you can find commands you

need to work with your files like Save, Close,         Open. To open the Backstage View, click

the File tab. To exit the Backstage View, click any ribbon tab.
