Text Editing Using Cut Copy and Paste Using the New Paste Options Button Using Drag and Drop


You can use the Cut, Copy and Paste options to move text or other items in your document.
The Cut option lets you remove the selected item from its current location and place it on theOffice Clipboard.
 The Copy option lets you place a copy of the selected item on the Office Clipboard.The Paste option lets you paste items from the Office Clipboard into your document

 
  Using Cut, Copy and Paste


To cut items:
1-  Select the items your want to cut.
2-  From the main menu, choose Edit               Cut.
OR  press the Ctrl + X   key combination.
OR  on the Standard toolbar, click the Cut button

 
 To copy items:
1- Select the items your want to copy.
2-  From the main menu, choose Edit         Copy.
OR  press the Ctrl + C  key combination.
OR  on the Standard toolbar, click the Copy button 

 

 

  To paste items:
1-  Place the cursor where you want to place the item.
2-  From the main menu, choose Edit           Paste
OR  press the Ctrl + V  key combination.
OR  on the Standard toolbar, click the Paste button

  
  Using the New Paste Options Button
The Paste Options button appears beside text you paste into a document, and it lets you
determine the format of the text you are pasting. The Paste Options button gives you the following options:
1-Keep Source Formatting: This option keeps the original format of the text.
2-Match Destination Formatting: This option formats the pasted text with the formats
applied to the surrounding text.
3-Keep Text Only: This option removes all formatting from the text.
4-Apply Styles or Formatting: This option lets you apply a style or format from the
Styles and Formatting pane. The Styles and Formatting pane opens when you choose this option.


  To use the Paste Options:
Paste the text into the document. The Paste Option button appears at the end of the text you pasted.
1-   Click the Paste Options button and choose the paste option you want. 



  Using Drag and Drop
Instead of moving text with the Cut, Copy, and Paste options, you can use the Word Drag and Drop feature. With Drag and Drop, you can move text by simply selecting it and dragging it to the new location.

 To move an item using Drag and Drop:


1-  Select the item you want to move (text, graphic, table, etc).
2-  In the center of the item you select, click and hold the left mouse button.
3-  While holding the mouse button down, drag the mouse pointer to the location where you want to place the item.
4-  Release the mouse button. The item moves to the new location.
